Loose Lips Sink ShipsThis is a featured page

Background
Before the days of email soldiers and sailors regularly wrote letters to their families and friends. The military had a protocol regarding these letters during WWII and still does today. However, soldiers and sailors today often use email and blogs to describe their experiences to their families.

Activity
(1) Read about the ten prohibited subjects during WWII here. Find three sample letters from that period then create your own letter home using the guidelines and modeling the voices your found in your internet search. Post your letter as an attachment to this wiki page.

(2) Read three letters or blog entries from soldiers or sailors involved in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Write a reply to them or comment on their blog and put a link to your response on this wiki.
