My name is Dawn Danker and I'm the Co-Director of Instructional Technology for the Oklahoma State Department of Education. I'm a former educator with a passion for education, the educational process and our students of tomorrow. I'm excited about this project because my stepfather was a veteran of World War II and never took the opportunity to share his story at length with those around him. He felt that "people" didn't want to hear about those things. Our family encouraged him to be proud of his service and to share when the time was appropriate. I only wish he had lived long enough to see this event, to experience this project and to be "digitally" recorded for the children of today. His story might remain silent but there are many veterans left and their voices must be heard. I'm excited about the direction of this project and the goals for this upcoming year.
